As Early Childhood Centre owner/managers, do you struggle to find the time to do everything that needs to be done in your day? Do you feel the weight of your multiple responsibilities every day? I hear you! The juggle is real! Finding and keeping good people, running a top-quality experience for the children whilst managing resourcing, temporary staff and the books as well is tough. But so are you. Sometimes all you need to do is stop. Stop and reflect and feel more aligned with our original purpose and better equipped to lead and manage our day-to-day juggles with some new strategies. Who finds it hard to delegate? Who beats themselves up when they don’t manage everything well (even though it would take two of you to get it all done?). This Leadership and Teambuilding workshop is designed specifically to help you reduce the struggle with your juggle. Providing insights and strategies that will help you lead even more effectively and create a culture that will encourage new team members and foster great loyalty from your existing people. Our first exercise comes from Brene Brown’s book and approach, Dare to Lead. We will dip also into Seth Godin’s work on eliciting the behaviors that reflect your business and personal values so that your people reflect your brand even better. And in a competitive space, your core brand value is, to a large degree, you, and your people, together with the trust-based relationships you build with the children and their parents. We will touch on the importance of a culture of appreciation. Standing together and surviving the shared challenges that are a reality for ECC members and partners, today. Pausing to say thank you or express your gratitude in other ways to help your teams feel valued, acknowledged and respected encourages greater loyalty and also a willingness to go above and beyond for you. Which – let’s face it - sometimes they need to do. The session ends with an acknowledgement that by employing Emotional Intelligence – despite our challenges – we as individuals, teams, and businesses, are stronger together. Learning our own inner workings, as Leaders and Managers, can help us fine tune our approach so that we stay in a calmer, more insightful headspace. We learn that we (sometimes) can stay out of firefighting and respond, not react.
