Rick says the substantial investment in the new headquarters reflects ambitious growth plans following successful expansion into Australia through strategic mergers completed last year. The company now employs 180 staff across New Zealand and Australia, actively servicing New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, with concrete plans for further Australian expansion. The business is currently implementing a comprehensive rebrand under the Yes Group umbrella, reflecting its diversified portfolio. Amtech Medical will become YesMed New Zealand and YesMed Australia, its physiotherapy supplies division, Astir, will transform into YesTherapy, and Footmedics will rebrand as YesPodiatry. The company has also successfully diversified into sustainable waste management through its business arm EnviroMed. There are plans to expand EnviroMed to the lower North Island next quarter. “We collect clinical waste from our customers and process this. This reduces clinical waste going to landfill,” says Rick. “The service addresses growing environmental concerns within healthcare by offering practical sustainable solutions for medical waste disposal. “Traditionally, there is a lot of plastic and other waste products, due to the need for sterilisation. Clinics have been grappling with being more sustainable. “EnviroMed achieves 80% reduction in wastage through advanced grinding techniques, with the processed material subsequently used in concrete production rather than ending up in landfill.” Since its early beginnings in 2003, it has been Amtech’s mission to source and supply New Zealanders with effective, cutting-edge medical supplies. The privately owned family business provides a nationwide service and has established itself as a single-source supplier for healthcare professionals across the country. Rick says the company focuses on operating with ethical business practices. “Aside from meeting all New Zealand regulatory requirements for imported products, we do our own background checks to ensure our suppliers meet international accreditation standards in the manufacturing and testing process.”
