TW Civil & Infrastructure T T Karen Phelps “By having everything inhouse… we can streamline delivery, reduce costs and eliminate the delays that often come from relying on multiple subcontractors.” REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT TW Civil & Infrastructure (TWCI) is redefining how civil projects are delivered, combining technical excellence, efficient execution, and enduring partnerships to achieve results that last, says Hawke’s Bay branch manager, Ian Tager. Based in Hawke’s Bay and operating across Aotearoa as part of the wider TW Group, TWCI offers an integrated approach to project delivery. With 14 specialist divisions covering trade, construction, civil works and traffic management, Ian says the company provides an endto-end service that allows it to adapt quickly to changing site conditions and client needs. “It’s a one-stop shop,” he says. “By having everything in-house, from surveying and project management through to roading, drainage and environmental management we can streamline delivery, reduce costs and eliminate the delays that often come from relying on multiple subcontractors.” He says TWCI stands out not only for its delivery model, but also for its investment in people and technology. The workforce represents 40.63% Māori and 21.88% female participation, with ongoing initiatives to increase diversity and inclusion. Through partnerships with Connexis, EIT and Earn Learn, TWCI supports NZQA-recognised qualifications in infrastructure works and drainlaying with more than 40 team members currently completing level 2-4 certifications. Its modern plant and fleet reflect the same commitment to quality. Most machinery is 2023 or newer, equipped with GPS technology for precision earthworks and real-time progress tracking, improving efficiency and reducing rework. TWCI also holds ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certifications, alongside SiteWise Gold and Tōtika accreditation highlighting the company’s focus on safety, sustainability and performance. Environmental Foundation rules guide daily operations, including proactive protection of waterways and minimisation of waste. Engagement with iwi is another cornerstone of TWCI’s approach. Ian says its iwi engagement model embeds consultation and co-design from the earliest stages of project development. “It’s about ensuring iwi perspectives help shape outcomes from the start,” he says. Recent projects showcase TWCI’s capability. The Taihape Road Resilience Programme for Hastings District Council involved emergency slip repairs and infrastructure upgrades across 11 sites. The Pāharakeke development saw gravity pipeline installation, temporary access roads and water main connections, all delivered on time and to specification. WCI is also nearing completion of the technically challenging Wairatahi wastewater design and construct project, working closely with council partners. Additionally, the company has been awarded the Te Roropipi subdivision in Napier, a major development in partnership with Mana Ahuriri, set to begin later this year. From subdivisions and stormwater systems to complex infrastructure works, Ian says TWCI continues to expand its footprint across the country. Every project is approached as a partnership built on transparency, and shared goals. We’re not just building roads or subdivisions, we’re building relationships and infrastructure that will serve communities for generations.” Greg Dick 0274 522 595 Pete Witkowski 027 233 3342 06 843 2241 www.iandickconcrete.co.nz Ian Dick Concrete Contractors are proud to work with and support TW Civil & Infrastructure on their civil and infrastructure projects throughout the Hawkes Bay.
