58 | Final phase underway The 62-lot development, located between the Kapiti Coast and the Tararua ranges, is now well advanced. DEVELOPMENT Anderson Park T T Karen Phelps Anderson Park is entering its final phase of development, with strong buyer demand reinforcing its position as one of the Kapiti Coast’s most upmarket and carefully planned residential subdivisions, says real estate agent Eddie Winkel from Harcourts Paraparaumu. The 62-lot development, located between the Kapiti Coast and the Tararua ranges, is now well advanced with Stage 2 representing the last opportunity for buyers to secure land within the project. Of the 45 sections available in Stage 2, less than a third remain for sale. Developed by Anderson Park Estates Ltd, part of the Waikanae-based Amnico Group, Eddie says the subdivision has attracted a broad range of buyers all drawn by its location, quality and design flexibility. “There’s a really good mix of ages here. We’re seeing families alongside people in their 50s and 60s who want to downsize from a family home but aren’t ready for a retirement village,” he says. Sections in Stage 2 range from approximately 500 square metres to more than 2000 square metres, offering a variety of options for different lifestyles and budgets. Unlike much of the Kapiti Coast, which is typically flat, the land at Anderson Park is gently undulating meaning people have more scope to be creative with their house designs, says Eddie. While buyers are free to choose their own builder, the majority of homes constructed so far have been built by David Reid Homes and Hayward Homes. Both companies have established show homes within the subdivision, which are open most days and give prospective buyers a clear sense of the design and build quality being achieved. Eddie says the quality of construction has helped drive values well beyond early expectations. “This is a premium development. Some completed homes have sold for more than $1.5 million, which really shows how the market sees Anderson Park.” Connectivity and access to green space are key features. A landscaped walkway links Ferndale to Anderson Park and continues through to Waikanae Park, passing wetlands and native planting along the way. “There’s a strong focus on green spaces and walkability, which really adds to the lifestyle appeal.” The subdivision is close to Waikanae’s swimming pool, sports grounds, squash club, Kapakapanui School and Waikanae Park, and is just a five-minute drive from the motorway into Wellington. Train services into the city are also nearby, with ample parking. Edddie says the developer has an established reputation for delivering high-end subdivisions, having previously completed Ferndale, widely regarded as one of the best residential developments in the wider Wellington region. “Ferndale set a very high benchmark and Anderson Park has been just as carefully planned and well designed,” he says. As the final sections are released, Eddie says Anderson Park continues to attract buyers from across the wider Wellington region, including the Hutt Valley, Manawat? and Wellington city, all seeking a high-quality lifestyle just outside the city. “With the last stage now selling, this is a rare opportunity to secure a place in one of the Kapiti Coast’s standout developments.” Civil • Environmental • Fire • Structural Geotechnical • Project Management Over 30 years delivering smart engineering solutions. From sponsorships to free services, the locally based arboriculture business has built a reputation not only for expert tree care but also for investing in the people and places it serves. “It’s important to give back to the local community as they also support us,” says company owner Jade Darbyshire. “When we give, we feel it comes back threefold and builds the mana of the business.” The company began around 15 years ago when Jade was working as a sole contractor, gradually building a client base through word of mouth. About six years ago, the business was formalised and entered a period of sustained growth. Today it operates with two teams of three, including four full-time sta and a wider group of trusted contractors. The team has been further strengthened by the addition of Manager Philip Stretton. A career arborist with lifelong expertise, Philip joined six months ago and now handles most of the company’s quotes, providing clients with deep technical knowledge from the very irst consultation. Based on the Kapiti Coast Elite Arboriculture works predominantly in the local area but also services Wellington, Lower Hutt and Levin. Despite its expanding reach, the focus has remained on maintaining high standards and a strong company culture. “Looking after sta and growing a good company culture is a priority,” says Jade. “Highly trained people, quality standards and competitive pricing are what allow us to keep things economical for clients while still doing a great job.” Community involvement sits at the heart of the business. Elite Arboriculture supports Rotary, sponsors Special Children’s Christmas Parties, contributes to local school and kindergarten initiatives, and backs projects such as the Camp ire Sauna in Paekākāriki and the Paekākāriki Surf Lifeguards. It also supports Waikanae Golf Club and donates to the New Zealand Collective of Abused in State Care Charitable Trust. In addition it regularly undertakes work for schools and play centres and leaves free mulch at the yard for residents to collect. One of its most popular initiatives is a free tree programme, where a deserving Kapiti Coast resident receives a full day of tree services, nominated and chosen by the community. Elite Arboriculture o ers a full range of services including tree pruning and trimming, tree health care, planting and mulching, safe tree removal and dismantling and stump grinding. Jade says the company’s approach combines safety, environmental respect and practical solutions, treating each tree as part of a wider ecosystem. The business has also become well known locally for its approachable style, with Jade’s dog Noodles often accompanying him on site visits and becoming something of a community mascot. As Elite Arboriculture continues to expand Jade says its success remains irmly rooted in the Kapiti Coast. “Supported by local clients and strengthened through community involvement Elite Arboriculture is proving that sustainable growth and genuine connection can go hand in hand.” Giving back at Kapiti At Elite Arboriculture, we’re passionate about keeping our Kapiti Coast trees healthy and beautiful.
