CONTRACTING Bomax Construction Ltd For Waikato foundation and concrete slab specialists Bomax Ltd, the decision to build a new workshop was about much more than having more room: it was about creating a permanent home for the business and investing in the people who make it all happen. Established in 2012 by co-founders Damien Bowden and Kelly Max, Bomax has grown exponentially and with it, the need for a purpose-built facility for its specialised equipment, vehicles, boxing systems and tools. “The new workshop will provide improved storage and organisation, dedicated workshop space for maintaining equipment and vehicles, and better facilities for our team,” owner Donna Max says. “But one of the biggest drivers behind the project was our staff. We wanted to create a space that our team can be proud of and a workshop that reflects who we are as a company. “The new facility will help us operate more efficiently, better manage our equipment and resources, and put us in a strong position for the next stage of growth.” The workshop is one part of a wider period of development for Bomax. Around the same time, Falmax Concrete was established as an independent concrete placing and finishing business by Kelly Max, Donna Max and Tiwha Falwasser. While Falmax operates as a separate company, the two businesses work closely together on a number of projects. Bomax specialises in the boxing, reinforcing and management of foundation works, while Falmax focuses on concrete placing and finishing. “Having two specialist businesses working alongside each other has strengthened communication, scheduling and quality control on projects,” Donna says. “By focusing on their respective areas of expertise, both companies are able to deliver better outcomes for clients while maintaining the high standards they are known for.” The relationship also supports the development of specialist skills and employment opportunities across both businesses, while allowing each company to continue growing independently. For Donna, both developments reflect a philosophy that has underpinned Bomax’s growth: continuous improvement. “We’ve always looked for ways to improve our systems, invest in our people and create a better experience for our clients,” she says. Whether through staff training, new equipment, improved processes or expanding its capabilities, Bomax’s goal is to continue building strong foundations – both literally, and as a business. “The growth we’ve experienced over the years would not have been possible without our team, loyal clients and trusted industry partners,” Donna says. “We’ve always believed that our team is our greatest asset. Everything we’ve achieved has been built by the people around us, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support. “We’re excited about what the next chapter looks like and the opportunities ahead for both Bomax and Falmax.” “Having two specialist businesses working alongside each other has strengthened communication.” GET IN TOUCH EMPIRE CONCRETE PUMPING OPERATES WITHIN COMMERCIAL, INDUSTRIAL, RESIDENTIAL AND DOMESTIC.
