Founded in the heart of New Zealand’s energy region, JGP Projects has seen whirlwind growth since starting a decade ago, something senior project manager and director, John Glavey, says is the result of studious hard work and rigorous attention to detail. “We’re a service-based company, who have traditionally served the energy, power and heavy industry sectors, so our success is directly related to how well we deliver results. It’s a challenging and very engaging sector to work in and we’re all tuned to creating positive outcomes for our clients,” says John. A strong theme of collaboration filters through the business, and their projects, no matter the size, receive the same focus. A framework based on the pillars of safety, quality, schedule and cost is applied to every project, with the result that through the course of its history, JGP Projects has grown from strength to strength. John says seeing projects through with a team that shares his passion was foundational to establishing the business.. “I love seeing the end result, when all the building blocks that go into project delivery come together.” Today, JGP Projects, which began as a team of two, with fellow director and business services manager, Jodi Magee, has grown to 30 people. John says that during the Covid period, the business experienced a shift somewhat away from solely focusing on oil and gas, and instead looking to diversify. “Put simply, we wanted to apply our services to other industries. We spread the net both geographically and across industries, and that’s been invaluable as the energy sector here in Taranaki has contracted.” JGP Projects undertakes a lot of work in the energy and infrastructure spaces, and these days has team members in those sectors located in Auckland, the East Coast, Bay of Plenty, Wellington, Taupo and Rotorua areas. “We’ve been reasonably targeted in what we do. Power generation, including renewables and three waters, have been two core areas; however, our capabilities are very transferable.” John says he has learnt through his professional career that longstanding relationships take time to nurture and grow, but once established, provide the sort of business that can be relied upon. “Once our clients have known us long enough to see our full suite of capabilities, they keep asking us to be iinvolved in new projects.” Delivery of ‘asset services’ is also an important part of what JGP Projects does. John describes it as a burgeoning element to the company’s service offering. Asset health through life-cycle management is at the core of these services. Jodi says the key to JGP’s outstanding track-record has been its due diligence to grounding and truly living its collective values. “Our values are what we stand by. Every process, and the way we engage with our clients, is an expression of these founding principles, and we’re all on the same page when it comes to how these are expressed,” she says. The values of trust, integrity, honesty, work ethic and communication, underpin why and how JGP Projects achieves the results it does. “These aren’t just words – they’re reflected in how we conduct ourselves, engage with our clients and work together as a team. It was always our dream to have a company based on strong ideals and we’re extremely proud of what our team achieves,” Jodi says. “It is exciting to look to the future with a motivated team and opportunities to continue to grow and add value to the industries we serve.” “Power generation, including renewables and three waters, have been two core areas; however, our capabilities are very transferable.” ˏ+*#. 01( 0%+*/ 0+ +1. !5 .+&! 0 .0*!. +* ˏ!(! . 0%*# Ȇȅ ! ./ȗ Ȗ ˙ ˏ ˙ ˏ ˙ *#%*!!.!
