20 | PFI Auckland T T Virginia Wright Industrial estate catering for growth REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT Founded in 1993 and listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange in 1994, in the last 30-plus years Property for Industry (PFI) has successfully built up a portfolio worth approximately $2.3 billion across close to 100 properties largely based in and around Auckland. “We focus solely on the industrial property market: manufacturing, storage solutions, cold-stores, bulk-stores and so on,” says Chief Executive Officer Simon Woodhams. “We’re one of the longest-listed property companies on the NZX. It’s a modern portfolio, and because we’ve been around for a long time, many of our properties are very well located, close to motorway networks and the main centres for distribution.” Supported by a resilient and very significant portfolio, which is almost fully occupied, PFI has built a strong track record of developing best-in-class industrial facilities. Construction recently started on a greenfield site, which they have named Totara Creek Estate, and which is part of the wider Spedding Industrial Estate, located in Auckland’s growing north-west corridor. Stage 1 of the planned three-stage development of their six-hectare site is underway with the construction of an 8500sqm warehouse facility. “Essentially, the building is designed to be constructed as one, but can be separated into up to four tenancies, with inter-tenancy walls installed as tenants are secured, allowing for a high degree of flexibility,” says Simon. “We can accommodate anything from a 1500sqm tenancy all the way up to 8500sqm.” In line with PFI’s belief that sustainability is now a business imperative, rather than an option, the building is targeting a 5 Green Star certification, complete with EV chargers, solar power, rainwater harvesting, intelligent lighting and ventilation, and end-of-trip facilities. Many high-end international tenants, in particular, now have sustainability goals, which influence their choice of buildings, and Totara Creek is designed to meet their requirements, as well as appeal to the local market. 2SWLPLVH \RXU VSDFH JURZ \RXU EXVLQHVV Proudly supporting New & Used Pallet Racking Systems | Compliance & Consents Repairs & Maintenance | Dismantles & Buy Back of Used Racking www.aucklandracking.co.nz info@aucklandracking.co.nz
