Website: reyburnandbryant.co.nz Suite 5, 88 Kerikeri Road, Kerikeri, New Zealand Kerikeri Office: Telephone: 09 283 5550 T T Karen Phelps Kerikeri lifestyle hits the mark In total the subdivision comprises 47 sites with sections ranging from 340sqm up to 800sqm. Traverse Group has released a further 16 sections at its Kerikeri Road subdivision, after selling almost all the sites in its first release. “The Kerikeri lifestyle lends itself to everybody, but it’s been really popular with first home buyers, investors and retirees who are looking to downsize. People can have a three-bedroom house, still have a backyard and enjoy the lifestyle,” says Traverse Group’s marketing and sales manager Kari Peden. In total the subdivision comprises 47 sites with sections ranging from 340sqm up to 800sqm. Kari puts the strong uptake down to the flat, easy-to-build-on land and the broad appeal of the Kerikeri lifestyle. Location is also a major drawcard with the subdivision close enough to town that residents can walk in. She says that Kerikeri township offers vineyards, cafés and restaurants, an eclectic mix of boutique and mainstream shopping and walking tracks to nearby waterfalls with the Bay of Islands on hand for a day out on the water. The subdivision also sits close to everyday amenities including supermarkets, medical and dental surgeries, petrol stations and schools, with Whangarei just over an hour’s drive away and Auckland CBD around 3.5 hours. “Kerikeri is more than a holiday destination. People can enjoy all of this and more in their backyard, when they become a Kerikeri local.” Each site comes with underground power, fibre-optic connectivity to the boundary, plus town water and sewer connections with access via a public road and private rights of way. While Kerikeri Road is currently seeing the strongest momentum, it isn’t the only project keeping Traverse Group busy. At Te Maika Road, near Ngunguru, a coastal subdivision is offering a rare chance to secure a residential section close to some of the region’s best beaches. “Ngunguru is renowned for its pristine beaches and vibrant community life,” says Kari. “This development gives people a chance to own a coastal residential section in this sought-after area.” Sites sit near the Ngunguru Estuary walkway and within easy reach of Tutukaka Harbour, rated by National Geographic as the world’s second-best coastline. Further afield Traverse Group is preparing for its first South Island development at 35 Tui Drive in Picton with Kari confirming the Group hopes to break ground in the new year. Presales are available. “It’s a great chance to live life by the sea in this picturesque port town in the heart of Marlborough Sounds. Bush hikes, mountain bike tracks and ocean adventures are all right on the doorstep.” She says the strength of demand across all three sites comes down to the way Traverse Group operates. It is a family-owned and operated company founded in 2005 by Kari’s parents Paul and Bitten Fearon. Kari’s brother Kent is general manager, and his wife Kelly manages administration and investments for the Group. From sourcing and purchasing land, through design and consenting to overseeing earthworks and roadworks and managing sales to the end customer, the Group handles every stage of the process. “It’s an approach that gives buyers confidence in the finished product and one reflected in Traverse Group’s commitment to creating enjoyable environments and fostering a sense of community in its projects.”
