QM Group BUILDING QM Group has cemented its place among Auckland’s leading townhouse builders and developers, taking home a Regional Silver award at the 2025 Master Builders House of the Year competition for its Talk of the Townhouse project. The boutique six-home development, located in a central Auckland suburb, stood out in the Multi Unit (Apartments/Duplexes/Terrace Housing) category for its quality craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and premium lifestyle offering. QM Group manager Crystal Sun says the award is recognition not only of the team’s commitment to quality but also of its mission to change perceptions of townhouse living in the city. “With Auckland’s high-density policy driving more people into central suburbs, the demand for high-quality townhouses has grown,” she says. “But it’s still rare to find homes that combine space, comfort, and style at this level. We put our hearts into this project to make sure it offered more than just compact living. We worked closely with our architect to make sure every detail contributed to easy modern living.” The Talk of the Townhouse project reflects QM Group’s vision to demonstrate that homes built by Chinese developers in New Zealand can match — and even surpass — the high standards set by Kiwi builders. “When we started in New Zealand in 2018, there was a perception that Chinese products were cheap and low quality,” Crystal says. “We wanted to change that. We’ve learned a lot from the local industry, and we’ve made it our goal to deliver homes of equal or higher quality. This award is proof we’re achieving that.” The recognition also marks QM Group’s second House of the Year success.
