Registered architect Madeline Sharpe says Synergine has been a trusted design partner for Fletcher Living since the project’s inception, leading the architectural delivery of more than 260 dwellings across several stages and working closely with Fletcher Living’s master planning and land development teams. “Our involvement is from concept through to construction,” she says. “We’re providing architectural services that ensure consistency, quality, and respect for the site’s unique cultural and landscape values over the long life of this development.” Fletcher Living design and planning manager for Auckland Central North Kim Clarke says the partnership has been instrumental in achieving the development’s design excellence. “We value our ongoing partnership with Synergine throughout the development of Three Kings,” Kim says. “Their involvement across all stages has been instrumental in ensuring our conceptual designs are not only buildable and sellable but beautiful. This collaboration has helped us uphold Fletcher Living’s quality standards while establishing a distinct design language for Three Kings.” The terraces designed by Synergine sit within Te Tātua a Riukiuta, also known as Three Kings – a place of deep cultural signi icance. Much of the housing is located within the Riu, the valley loor that forms the heart of the community. “The Riu is surrounded by our terraced housing which forms the basis of this community and de ines its central space,” Madeline says. “We’ve designed these homes to serve as the foundation of the new community while maintaining a strong connection to the natural environment.” Working closely with landscape architects Bo a Miskell, Woods, and the wider consultant team, Synergine has helped champion an integrated design process that supports the overall masterplan. Regular collaboration ensures alignment between land development, architecture, landscape, and the public realm, maintaining the project vision. Madeline says Synergine’s design approach is guided by a deep respect for place, expressed through the use of natural materials and a restrained architectural language that complements rather than competes with the maunga. “These are homes that sit comfortably in their setting,” she says. “We’ve worked hard to create beautiful, quality homes that integrate amenity and natural surroundings. Residents will be living in a truly special environment.” She says the collaboration re lects strong alignment in values when it comes to community building. “Fletcher Living’s commitment to long-term investment and amenity mirrors our own philosophy. Together, we’re helping shape a high-quality, enduring community for Tāmaki Makaurau.” Bringing communities to life architecture@synergine.com
