It’s a big advantage in a maintenance-heavy industry like crushing.” Thermal Solutions Technology at the core of temperature control T T Virginia Wright “We’ve always been early adopters of tech, both with our internal systems and our customer- facing systems.” T T to page 70 Collaboration, innovation and excellence are the key ingredients of Thermal Solutions’ approach to solving their clients’ problems as they meet their HVAC, refrigeration or electrical needs. Thermal Solutions has been providing refrigeration, air-conditioning and ventilation expertise to a wide variety of clients for more than 20 years. Jarrod Harris was the first employee, joining the company three months after it was founded by Paul Evans and Brent Evans (no relation), and becoming an equal third owner in 2012. As an HVAC design engineer, Brent is involved in the HVAC side of the business, Paul heads the refrigeration side and, with his dual expertise in refrigeration and electrical, Jarrod heads the electrical controls side of the business, but above all at Thermal Solutions they work as a team. Decades of collective experience underpin their company-wide emphasis on putting technology and innovation at the forefront of what they do. Thermal Solutions has organically grown over the years from a handful of people working out of Brent’s garage to now having 50 employees across the country working from dedicated offices in Tauranga, Christchurch and Queenstown, as well as Auckland where their head office is in Silverdale. Clients range from companies like Ryman Healthcare to Air New Zealand to Fonterra; breweries, wineries, bakers, universities, pharmaceutical distributors – the list goes on, and what they all have in common is the need to have reliable environmental temperature control for their goods, and/or people, plus clean and safe occupied spaces. “There’s air-conditioning, there’s ventilation and there’s extraction as well as environmental temperature regulation and it can be a mix of all of them requiring a complex arrangement of plant and controls enabling it all to work seamlessly,” says Jarrod. Recognised as industry leaders, the Thermal Solutions team embraces everything technology can offer, knowing it has the potential to save thousands of dollars by pro-actively identifying and solving problems for clients. “There isn’t a problem that we can’t attack or deal with,” says Jarrod.
