ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN Impact Construction specialises in hi-end residential homes but also completes a wide range of homes and renovations as requested by their clients. Darryl Short (Director) has been building for around 35 years and is now running the business. He’s the Project Manager for all the builds and will jump on the tools when needed. Darryl has formed a team of builders that have the knowledge and skills to carry out the most complex builds, always keeping the high quality clients expect and which Impact Construction has become known for. Tony Williams (foreman) has been with Impact Construction since the beginning and has a vast knowledge of building, having worked in both commercial and residential for around 40 years. He’s an invaluable member of the team especially when it comes to problem solving and making sure all sub-contractors and builders/labourers keep to the level of quality expected, which is generally not a problem, says Darryl. “Impact Construction has formed long-standing relationships with local sub-contractors that have bought into the vision and know what we expect. We are loyal to our partners so it’s very rare we make a change.” Impact Construction is a tight team that prides itself on the service and quality that results from their years of knowledge and experience. They like to be involved in the design at the beginning of each project, guiding the clients along the way to ensure they stay within the budget speci ied, choosing product that stands the test of time, making sure that the end result is exactly what is expected, just as they did on the recent build at Oceanview. “It was a pleasure to manage and build the featured project and to be part of the team that the clients had put together to complete their home,” says Darryl. “Jon (Jon McAlpine Architecture) and his team were great and very accessible which enabled issues to be sorted promptly and the job to low as expected. Jon and his colleague Sammet us on site regularly to keep us updated and make sure all our questions were answered, redesigning details and amending plans when needed due to client upgrades. Annique and her team from Gezelig Interiors took the lead in product, design and colour choices, sourcing many items from overseas which was no easy feat but the end result speaks for itself. We were amazed how well they all worked with the clients to achieve the end goal.
