Ardea Terrace is designed for easy, low-maintenance living, blending modern aesthetics with practical living, while fitting the feel of its location says company owner Chris Honore. “I started out 13 years ago doing infill housing and subdivisions in central Tauranga, and now we’re focusing on bringing the full package in the design and delivery of housing developments – a mix of single-level homes, duplexes and terraced housing.” Comprising 26 units (24 two-bedroom and two three-bedroom townhouses) Ardea Terrace is a collaboration between Honore Developments and CMP Construction, an Auckland-based specialist in multimillion-dollar projects, ensuring a high standard of delivery from concept to completion. Barfoot & Thompson is marketing the development, which is currently in the sales stage with construction set to begin in Q3 2025 and completion expected around Q4 2026. “We’ve really focused on bringing amenity to the area and creating homes that fit the feel of the Matua community,” says Chris. “It’s quite unique for the peninsula. There aren’t many townhouses here, so we’re setting a new precedent for growth and thoughtful design.” Each Ardea Terrace home is across two levels, with some offering views of Tauranga Harbour and others, views of the Kaimai Ranges. Architecturally designed, each townhouse exterior combines timber cladding, metal profiles, and aluminium window shrouds, which provide privacy whilst keeping a sleek, contemporary look. The interiors boast stylish kitchens with Smeg appliances and engineered stone bench tops, while high-quality fittings and fixtures are used throughout. We’ve had great input from consultants and designers, and it’s been a very thoughtful process,” Chris says. With the average house price in Matua reaching more than $1.1 million, Ardea Terrace stands out by offering architecturally designed two-bedroom homes from $799,000. Meanwhile, in the elevated hills of Ohauiti, another Honore Development is under construction – Patiki Ridge.
