Kingston Group DEVELOPMENT Based in Te Awamutu, Kingston Group is committed to designing and building residences that are more than just structures – they are spaces for thriving communities. Serving the Waipa, Cambridge, Hamilton, and greater Waikato regions, Kingston Group specialises in creating homes that prioritise convenience, functionality, human connection, and community, catering to individuals and families at various life stages. The nine-year-old business is co-owned by partners Isaac Savill and Peter Leach, who lead a team of 13 employees, including a building crew of six. Isaac manages the practical aspects of development and construction, while Peter handles project sourcing, joint ventures, finance, resource consents, and sales. “We offer a complete develop-and-build service – end-to-end management of a client’s development. Everything from concept design, to resource consent, to connecting underground works, and building the homes,” explains Peter. Kingston Group seeks out prime greenfield sites, either close to amenities or in picturesque lifestyle spots, and manages the entire process from subdivision and development to construction, handling everything from underground infrastructure to completed homes. Their team delivers mid-range residential developments across the Waikato region – from a 65sqm unit, for example, to a 300sqm lifestyle home. “I love connecting joint venture partners to projects to enable housing to be brought to the market,” says Peter. “I love connecting homeowners with new purposefully built properties – homes tailored to their life stage.” Kingston Group has completed over 30 projects, resulting in the construction of more than 100 homes. Currently, the team is managing six active developments, including a three-lot infill project and a 60-lot lifestyle subdivision. “We are incredibly intentional about who we set out to build a project for,” Peter says. “We analyse the site for proximity to amenities and determine the size of home we can build with the anticipated buyer in mind. We then craft our homes to match this home buyer. “It’s about starting with the end homeowner and working backwards. Even when we are looking at doing lifestyle properties, we think about what the homeowner would want or need. Are they coming here for rural life and need a space for a shed, or do they need a turnkey package.” The business is a member of the Master Builders Association; however, awards are not really a driver for the team, as customer satisfaction means the most, which is reinforced by many five-star reviews. According to Peter, now is the time to buy or build a new home as interest rates have dropped, materials are in good supply and prices have stabilised. He says that lots of first-home buyers are entering the market, plus there is huge capacity in the market with plenty of sections to build on. Current projects include 983 Alexandra Street, Te Awamutu – a purpose-built senior development of two-bedroom houses priced from $595,000; Rewi St, Te Awamutu – perfect for first-home buyers or downsizers, with three-bedroom houses priced from $725,000; and River Gardens, Hakarimata Range – with perfect lifestyle houses for growing families or rural downsizers in a stunning location only 20 minutes from Hamilton, which are priced from $450,000.
