POOL INDUSTRY Euro Pools With decades of industry experience and a growing presence across the North Island, Euro Pools continues to build its reputation for delivering custom concrete swimming pools suited to New Zealand’s diverse landscapes and lifestyles. Euro Pools specialises in designing, engineering, and constructing bespoke concrete pools, from infinity edge and lagoon style designs to fully integrated pool and spa combinations. Euro Pools managing director Venny Prokopiev says the focus is on guiding clients through the entire process, from the first conversation through to design, engineering, and construction. “Most people come to us knowing they want a pool, but they’re not always sure what form it should take,” Venny says. “Our job is to understand their vision and their lifestyle, then develop a design that fits their space, their budget, and their expectations.” Euro Pools designs its projects in house, allowing the team to tailor each pool to the unique characteristics of a property. “Every pool we build is different,” Venny says. “Concrete gives us complete flexibility. Whether the pool needs to sit several metres above ground, integrate with a steep coastal site, or fit into a compact urban section, we can engineer a solution.” The company works across Auckland and has expanded its reach across much of the North Island in recent years, including Waikato, Bay of Plenty, and Taranaki. Venny has more than 20 years of experience in the concrete industry and over a decade in swimming pool construction. He says the experience of the wider team is one of the company’s strengths. “Our team includes specialists who have spent decades perfecting their craft — from plumbing and tiling to interior finishes, most with over 30 years in the industry,” he says. One of the company’s most ambitious projects is currently underway in Auckland, where the team is constructing one of the largest private residential swimming pools in the region. The pool will hold around 250,000 litres of water and includes infinity edges, waterfalls, shallow family areas, an island and deeper zones designed for diving and swimming. “Projects like that allow us to demonstrate what we can do,” Venny says. Venny says demand for resort style pools has grown in recent years, with homeowners seeking outdoor spaces that combine relaxation and entertainment. “People do not want a basic rectangular pool anymore,” he says. “They want something that creates a destination at home.” Infinity edges remain particularly popular in coastal areas, while features such as waterfalls and integrated landscaping are increasingly common. Sustainability and efficiency are also an important part of modern pool design. Euro Pools installs energy efficient filtration systems, variable speed pumps, energyefficient heating and pool covers that help reduce heat loss and energy consumption. “Our clients want premium designs, but they also want systems that are efficient and responsible,” Venny says. Clear communication and transparent pricing are central to the company’s approach. “We make sure clients understand exactly what they are getting,” he says. “There are no hidden costs and when we give a fixed price we stand by it.” Euro Pools continues to explore new ideas and technology, with Venny and the team recently attending an international industry event in Miami where they connected with global leaders in pool design and construction. “Every project teaches us something new,” he says. “That is one of the things we enjoy most about this industry.” Aqua Clear is making pool ownership easier, more energy-e icient, and more enjoyable for Kiwi homeowners, and its products are helping pool builders win some of the industry’s top awards. The company was a key supplier to Alfresco Pools, which swept the 2025 New Zealand Swimming Pool and Spa Association (SPASA) Awards of Excellence, taking home nine titles. It was the company’s biggest year yet, and Aqua Clear’s advanced pool technology played an important role in supporting that success. Managing director Mike Brunt says Aqua Clear’s focus has always been on two things: energy e iciency and ease of ownership. “Our products are designed so pool owners can spend less time maintaining their pools and more time enjoying them,” he says. Founded more than 30 years ago by Mike’s father, Aqua Clear has built a reputation as a trusted supplier to the swimming pool and spa industry. Mike himself has worked in the industry since he was 13 years old, and today he continues to lead its drive for innovation and quality. Among its standout products is the Aqua InverJet SwimJet System, which transforms an ordinary backyard pool into an endless lap pool. Powered by inverter technology, the system produces a smooth, adjustable current that mimics open water conditions. With whisper-quiet operation and easy installation, the InverJet caters to everyone from elite athletes to those seeking gentle rehabilitation or low-impact exercise. “Swimming is one of the best all-round workouts,” Mike says. “With the InverJet, you’re no longer limited by the size of your pool. It turns a pool into a year-round itness and wellness zone.” Aqua Clear’s range also includes automatic backwash valves for self-cleaning pools, advanced chemical control systems, energy-e icient heat pumps and gas heaters, LED lighting, and automation technology. Together, these solutions can cut running costs by as much as $180 a month, giving pool owners a fast return on investment while reducing environmental impact. Mike says Aqua Clear partners closely with forward-thinking builders such as Alfresco Pools, who are quick to adopt new products. “They have high expectations, and so do we. We’re always looking for innovative solutions that add real value to the pool experience.” Whether building a new pool, upgrading an existing one, or creating a bespoke water feature, Aqua Clear provides products and support that have helped thousands of New Zealanders get the most out of their water playgrounds. “We’ve always stood behind what we sell, and our commitment to quality and service has kept us at the forefront of the industry.” Innovation Driving Award-Winning Pools Highest Quality Swimming Pool & Spa Pool Equipment, Knowledge & Service. +64 9 273 4103 WWW.AQUACLEAR.CO.NZ • Swimming Pool Automation • UV Sanitisers • Inverter Pool heat Pumps When you need equipment for a spa, you’re upgrading a pool or creating a water feature masterpiece, Aqua Clear are the trusted suppliers for swimming pool pumps, heaters, lights, filters and lots more.
