REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT Construction activity is intensifying as Tāmaki Regeneration Company (TRC) advances multiple housing projects throughout Glen Innes, Panmure and Point England. “The next 12 months will mark a pivotal period for housing development across Tāmaki, with several major projects reaching critical construction milestones that will bring hundreds of new homes to the area including Site A, Epping-Evandale, Pīrangi, Concord, and Larsen and Torino,” says Daniel Henderson, general manager development & commercial at TRC. “These projects will not only deliver more housing, but also set new standards for what social and affordable housing can be with high sustainability ratings, durable materials, culturally informed design and smart, cost-effective delivery models focused on whole-of-life value.” The N2.4 development stands as a flagship example of this new standard. Located within walking distance of Glen Innes Town Centre and the train station, the project will deliver 91 new homes, including 70 social homes and 21 shared homeownership opportunities. “These homes are designed for modern, affordable living. They will be energy-efficient, warm in winter, cool in summer, and feature solar panels and water reuse systems to keep household costs low,” explains Daniel. The development has been carefully crafted in partnership with Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki, who have guided everything from façade design and colour choices to planting and paving.
