The project demanded high levels of coordination, due to minimal tolerances and complex staging across multiple work faces. James’ methodical approach of finishing one floor at a time, rather than leaving everything to the end, proved crucial when issues arose, enabling the team to recover quickly and finish on schedule. James was recognised for his manner of leading by ‘doing’, including being on top of things when sealing the roof, and when an issue arose regarding delivering one of the floors on time he rallied the right people to help out, liaised with consultants and kept the job on track.
