| 115 Committed to quality Searle Group REGIONAL More than five decades after it was founded Searle Group continues to prove that long-term thinking, family values and a commitment to quality remain at the heart of successful residential property development. Established in 1971 by Stuart Searle, the 100 per cent New Zealand-owned company has grown into a respected name in residential property development and investment, focusing on transforming greenfield sites into carefully planned subdivisions across the Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions as well as undertaking projects further afield. Today the business remains firmly in family hands, with the next generation continuing the vision established more than 50 years ago. Director Anthony Searle says the company’s local ownership gives it a genuine stake in the communities where it develops. “As a 100% New Zealand owned and operated company we have a vested interest in being part of the process that helps Kiwis into home ownership,” he says. “Later, when they are ready to take the next step, we are there to help them move up the property ladder into their next dream home.” Rather than pursuing large-scale developents for growth alone, Searle Group focuses on identifying sites with unique characteristics, whether that is location, outlook or another defining feature that appeals to buyers. The company develops residential sections that are sold to private purchasers and builders and also works alongside trusted building partners to offer house and land packages tailored to a range of buyers. Anthony says that maintaining a manageable size has been central to the company’s philosophy. “We are a small company and take great pride in what we produce. Being Kiwi owned means we have a vested interest in outcomes for the futures of generations. We look to be here for the long haul,” he says. That long-term approach extends beyond the company’s own operations. Searle Group works with local contractors and consultants with the aim of producing high-quality developments that support growing communities. These values have helped the business establish lasting relationships throughout the regions in which it operates. One project is a significant development at Te Kauwhata featuring a 75-lot subdivision strategically positioned between Auckland and Hamilton. The location continues to experience strong population growth and increasing demand for housing, making it an attractive prospect for future development. Another is an 18-lot subdivision at Kitchener Road in Pukekohe, a 43-lot lifestyle subdivision at Foy Road in Pukekohe and a 57-lot residential development in Hanmer Springs, demonstrating the breadth of its experience across New Zealand. Patumahoe has become another key focus for the business. Working alongside Navigation Homes, Searle Group has developed house and land packages within its Carter Road and Patty Lane subdivision, offering generous family homes on large sections designed to meet the needs of modern buyers. Anthony says the area’s strong community amenities have made it particularly attractive to families. With more than 300 residential lots delivered in Patumahoe alone and a pipeline of developments Searle Group remains committed to helping shape communities while staying true to the family values that have underpinned the business since 1971.
