Health and safety considerations were also embedded into the design. Mechanical plant is placed at ground level to eliminate the need for routine rooftop access, reducing risk for future maintenance contractors and building operators. Dean says these decisions reflect Naylor Love’s broader commitment to designing safer buildings and supporting subcontractors throughout the construction process. “We see our role as helping lift standards across the industry. If a subcontractor needs support with health and safety systems, environmental planning, or operational processes, we work alongside them. It’s about sharing knowledge and helping everyone improve.” The success of Papamoa Plaza is also reinforcing lessons that Naylor Love is applying across its national portfolio, including greater use of prefabrication, digital construction technology, and innovative automation solutions. For Dean, the project’s greatest achievement has been the relationship built with the client. “The trust developed through this project has been incredibly important. We’ve been able to provide advice, demonstrate the value of that advice, and help the client make confident decisions throughout the process.” www.bopasphalt.co.nz | 07 578 1277 Quality | efficiency | safety of surfacing in the Bay
