The company specialises in selling, hiring, modifying and transporting all grades of new and used shipping containers throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, offering an incredible array of options for their use, sometimes in unique and innovative ways. Auckland/Northland regional manager Odin Madsen says the company already covers the whole of the South Island and plans to increase the number of depots throughout the regions. “We have the capacity now to modify shipping containers in Christchurch, and to be able to move those around the South Island to customers.” SEA Containers NZ is also hoping to expand its modification business to other South Island regions in the future. Ongoing residential building and associated infrastructure development in hotspots such as Central Otago and some other parts of the South Island is creating a lot of movement from the North Island, along with opportunities for the business to both meet needs that arise out of this movement, and to strategically expand. “Construction growth is really good and important to us, and we’re finding that we are supplying more and more of the key companies down there, and the residential builders’ sites will need secure storage,” Odin says.
