Launched officially on April 1, David Reid Homes Nelson & Tasman is offering something unique to the local building market, with custom homes designed around how people truly want to live. With a strong national brand behind them, and the flexibility of a boutique team, Dan and Bridget are already delivering homes tailored to each client’s lifestyle, taste, and budget. “From day one, our mission has been to give people the homes they actually want, not just what’s already sitting on a plan or in a brochure,” says Bridget. “Everyone lives differently, and we believe a home should reflect that. That’s where our real strength lies.” Bridget brings a flair for design to the business with her Diploma in Interior Design, and years of experience in flooring, soft furnishings, and decorating. Dan, a qualified builder and owner of DJ McIvor Construction, leads the construction side with a team of seven, ensuring every detail is delivered with precision. Together, they offer an end-to-end service where clients are closely involved from concept to completion, choosing the layout, finishes, and features that suit their unique needs. The move into the David Reid Homes network was a natural fit for Dan and Bridget. Having admired the brand’s homes during time spent in Queenstown, they were impressed by the high-quality, design-led builds and the brand’s commitment to individuality. “We liked what they were doing, and when the opportunity came up to bring the brand back to Nelson, we jumped at it,” Bridget says. “The support from head office – its systems, tools and people – have been incredible. It means we can stay small, agile, and local, while offering big-brand capability.” The duo is already seeing strong interest across the region, with several projects in the pipeline and more coming in each week. Their first show home, set to begin construction in July at 14 Hallmark Drive in Richmond, will demonstrate exactly what they can deliver, with a pavilion-style home designed specifically for the site, and built to inspire.
