MTM Group is nearing completion of its first development at Remarkables Park in Queenstown, with the new tenant expected to move in by late July or early August. The base build for the project is now finished, with the incoming tenant undertaking an interior fit-out tailored to its operational needs. The project, designed for a campervan sales and hire business, is one of the first large-scale vertical builds within the subdivision, says Johnathan Chen, managing director of MTM Group. “This project at Lot 81 Remarkables Park is one of the first in the newly subdivided lots north of Hawthorne Drive. It’s been well received by the tenant and will allow them to operate more efficiently,” he says. The just-completed project sits on a one-hectare site within the Remarkables Park Zone, a master-planned area known for its proximity to key infrastructure, including Queenstown Airport, the town centre and surrounding residential developments. Once completed, the facility will feature a showroom, workshop, offices and dedicated areas for vehicle drop-off and pick-up, along with extensive parking. Johnathan says Queenstown’s ongoing shortage of centrally located, developable land has been well documented, with many businesses historically forced to operate from outlying areas, such as Cromwell, despite servicing the Queenstown market. Developments like this aim to address that gap, offering scalable solutions for growing enterprises. “It is a rare piece of large flat land in Queenstown. It’s close to the airport, transport, Remarkables Park town centre with residential areas, hotels and the Wakatipu High School across the road,” he says. “There will be other businesses in Queenstown under the same restraints, and Remarkables Park obviously offers solutions for a better customer experience for these businesses. “Now we are finished with this development we are looking at doing more at Remarkables Park, and are already negotiating a couple of “This project at Lot 81 Remarkables Park is one of the first in the newly subdivided lots north of Hawthorne Drive. We are happy to look at custom requirements for people looking at business expansion in Queenstown.” MTM Group has a track record of delivering both residential and commercial developments across New Zealand, including projects in Auckland and Hamilton. It operates under a long-term investment philosophy, focusing on quality builds that align with its own portfolio strategy. The company’s philosophy centres on quality and long-term value, guided by a simple mantra: it never develops anything that its directors wouldn’t be happy to hold themselves. “Our investment strategy is rooted in synergy, seeking opportunities that complement our existing investments and creating non-linear opportunities across multiple projects and industries,” says Johnathan. Johnathan is no stranger to Queenstown, being the director of the company that developed and owns the Holiday Inn at Remarkables Park, as well as being the director of the Research & Innovation Queenstown project. He says MTM Group is exploring further opportunities in Queenstown, including potential hotel and residential projects. With strong interest from businesses seeking modern, efficient premises in central locations, Johnathan says MTM Group is positioning itself to play a key role in shaping the next phase of commercial growth in the Queenstown Lakes District.
