General manager Kaelym Hodge says the business covers a wide range of electrical work across the region, with residential and commercial work forming the core of the company’s workload. “We do a lot of domestic and commercial work, security systems, appliances, and then a bit of industrial work as well. It’s a good mix of work across the region.” Security and alarm systems have become increasingly in demand for both homeowners and commercial premises looking to improve safety and monitoring. “There’s definitely a lot more demand for security systems now, especially commercial security, and we do the whole process from start to finish, including CCTV and alarm systems,” Kaelym says. Home security systems can include motion detectors, entry point sensors for doors and windows, fire and smoke detection, CCTV cameras, panic buttons, electric gates and smart phone monitoring systems, allowing owners to monitor their property remotely. “These systems give people peace of mind, because they can monitor their property from their phone and know what’s happening even if they’re not there.” Commercial security systems are also becoming more common as businesses look to protect equipment, stock and premises. Alongside security work, the company carries out full-scope wiring and electrical systems for new builds and major upgrades. Recent projects have included work at schools, churches and commercial buildings, as well as electrical installations for retail and hospitality fit-outs. “We’ve done a large variety of renovation work at schools and council buildings and get regular work for many of our other commercial customers; we can handle most small to larger jobs across the region.” Being part of the wider Laser network also allows the sharing of expertise and the ability to provide work nationwide from the various branches.
