The Andrew Simms Group is one of the most successful privately owned motor companies in New Zealand with 12 dealerships across Auckland and now a huge enterprise in Andersons Bay having taken over ownership of Stephen Duff Motors. Group Dealer Principal Matthew Wales said the first Mitsubishi showroom opened on Andersons Bay Road in December with great results. “Three times this year we have had the highest volume of Mitsubishi sales in New Zealand which shows what a massive difference the showroom alongside good people has made.” Andrew Simms’ property company owns the block of land on Andersons Bay Rd from Strathallan Street to the old Mad Butcher site. As the next part of the transformation they are about to start building another complex which will hold three new showrooms. Designed by Andrew Ayoub of AA Architects they are currently going through the consent process and it will be built by Stewart construction. “There will be a significant Nissan showroom as well as Jeep and RAM showrooms. The building is at the back of the property with plenty of parking at the front. All up, the new showrooms will be 1000sqm.” Having dedicated showrooms means customers will be getting specialised expert advice, he says.
