A pivotal moment came for Dan and his career after he completed an iconic commercial build. “After finishing Village Lake Apartments, my wife and I looked at each other and said ‘what are we doing’, so we decided to stay because we had fallen for Hanmer Springs and what it had to offer,” he says. Material choices often reflect the surrounding landscape, with Dan noting that they use a lot of natural hardwood timber imported from Australia, as well as locally sourced timber. There is also growing demand for energy-efficient designs, including the use of Sola Paper, which offers thicker frame walls, ultimately providing more insulation. The team is also in demand for its renovation work, with a recently completed project involving a complete re-clad and the addition of a new bedroom, bathroom, and laundry.
