Coast Construction also handles all council consents and building permits for both residential and commercial projects, ensuring full compliance with local regulations. A typical new home build takes around 8 to 12 months, while renovations may take 3 to 6 months. Council approval processes can add 2 to 4 months depending on complexity. Current projects include a sleep-out, bathroom tiling, and recladding a home in Hastings. Past work includes a commercial build for Triton Hearing in Napier. Despite ongoing challenges such as a slow consent process and market fluctuations, Coast Construction continues to grow—mainly through word-of-mouth referrals. “Most of our jobs come from word of mouth, with happy clients recommending us,” says Berry.
