22 | Awards success reflects company’s diversity iLine won three major awards at the 2025 New Zealand Commercial Project Awards. iLine Construction T T Kelly Deeks REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT iLine Construction is proving its versatility and capability across New Zealand’s commercial construction sector, recently taking home three major accolades at the 2025 New Zealand Commercial Project Awards. The company was recognised with a Gold Award in the Industrial category for Riverlea HQ, and two Silver Awards, one in the Commercial category for 93 Cameron Road in Tauranga, and another in the Commercial Fit-out category for the Manawa Energy head office. Marketing manager Jacinta Ryan says the three awards represent more than just successful builds, they showcase the diverse skill sets and project-delivery models that set iLine apart. “These projects cover three very different sectors – industrial, commercial base build, and high-end interior fit-out,” she says. “Winning these awards is recognition of the hard work of our people and the depth of capability we have across our teams.” The Gold Award-winning Riverlea HQ project is a standout example of iLine’s strength in large-scale industrial design-and-build projects. Completed at Northgate Business Park in Horotiu, the 8000sqm purpose-built facility consolidates Riverlea Group’s operations on to one site, improving operational efficiency. Features include a 13-metre stud height, a 6.3-tonne gantry crane for factory handling, and a 1700sqm canopy with a 960sqm, two-level office space. The low-sheen black steel cladding, supplied by Riverlea, reflects both companies’ shared focus on quality and innovation. The team also worked closely with Riverlea’s leadership on tailored office fit-outs to suit their specific needs, creating a high-functioning workspace that complements the industrial side of the build. Meanwhile, iLine’s Silver Award-winning work at 93 Cameron Road in Tauranga highlights the company’s collaborative approach to commercial projects. Working under an early contractor engagement (ECI) model with Cube Architects, iLine delivered a striking new commercial building, now home to Manawa Energy and the NZ Blood Service’s regional donor centre. Key features include expansive street-facing windows, fin lighting integrated into the curtain wall façade, and a third-level deck with sweeping views of Tauranga Harbour. For Manawa Energy’s fit-out, which also earned a Silver Award, iLine worked closely with Wingate Architects to deliver a highly detailed, culturally significant interior. Spread across two levels, the fit-out includes curved walls, high-spec acoustic treatments, and integrated branding elements that reflect the company’s identity as one of New Zealand’s leading independent power producers. “We were proud to help bring the architect’s cultural vision to life through quality craftsmanship and careful coordination,” Jacinta says. “Our focus was on delivering a high-spec fit-out that aligned with Manawa Energy’s identity, and supported their goals for a collaborative, future-focused workplace.” While iLine remains strong across Waikato and the Bay of Plenty, the company’s Auckland presence is also growing. Under the leadership of newly appointed Auckland general manager Ben Churches, iLine is expanding its portfolio in the region. “Ben’s commercial and residential construction background includes projects across New Zealand, Australia, and the UK, and he brings valuable expertise to our Auckland operations,” Jacinta says. Having steadily built a reputation in Auckland over several years, iLine has a growing pipeline of projects and well-established relationships with local suppliers and subcontractors. Now building on the success of its Auckland projects, iLine is becoming a trusted main contractor in the city, and is excited about this next phase of growth. “Winning these awards is recognition of the hard work of our people and the depth of capability we have across our teams.” iLine earned a Silver Award for the stunning fit-out of Manawa Energy’s new building.
