Once the land was properly drained to provide a sound platform for development, earthworks got into full swing. McPherson Contractors' late-model high-production leet of earthmoving machinery has ensured e icient delivery on site. “It’s a signi icant project for us and the region. Once people can drive in there, I think they’ll be amazed at the scale of change that’s occurred in a short period of time. We have levelled 20 hectares to date. The deepest cuts were 12 metres, and the biggest ills were over eight metres. Each of our machines carries 10 cubic metres – so far, we’ve moved north of 500,000 cubic metres.” McPherson Contractors started as a one-man digger and truck operation in the late 1980s.
