Another upcoming development for PFI called Spedding Road Estate in northwest Auckland – encompassing six hectares of prime greenfield land designated for light industry development - will offer multiple warehouse options and the opportunity for custom design and build packages and will again be targeting a 5 Green Star rating. “We’re hoping to be on site by the start of February 2026 to commence construction,” Simon says. Looking ahead, Simon suggests 5 Green Star rated buildings could generate rising benefits for tenants in the future, for example, by opening access to more competitive insurance premiums and finance rates. As well, many global companies now require their tenants to operate from Green Star rated buildings.
