Closer to home, Zolve Environmental has been working with several forestry companies across the South Island, undertaking gap analysis reports and developing frameworks for their wilding conifer management programmes, and in Northland/ Central North Island, assisting a company to obtain Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification. “These projects highlight the unseen mahi of forestry companies who are holding themselves accountable and implementing good forestry management practice and ensure the highest standards are not just strived for, but also achieved,” says Zac. Identifying revenue opportunities and focusing on the long-term land use opportunities post-wilding conifer control is another big project for the company. Zolve looks at how to transition the landscape after the wilding pines are removed. “There are so many concepts out there, but the implementation falls over,” Zac says. He says being able to bridge the gap between high-level objectives and operational execution is what distinguishes the company within the industry. “We strive to turn ideas into reality and provide practical, achievable solutions ensuring that each goal is met,” says Zac. “We’re also big on stakeholder engagement and bringing varying views together to achieve a common outcome.”
