The business expanded significantly after Milk n Water Services moved into its current premises, which included a large workshop and the integration of an existing engineering firm. At that time, it also took on TradeZone, adding industrial and engineering supplies to its growing range of services. The combined business now offers welding equipment, water blasters, generators, oils, CRC products, plumbing supplies, tubing and more. This breadth of stock complements the milking equipment side of the business. “Customers who come in for liners, rubberware or parts can also pick up the tools they need to complete their jobs, says director Shaun Jellie. “Taking on TradeZone has allowed us to provide our customers with everything they need under one roof.” Milk n Water Services offers hands-on solutions including servicing pumps and bores, light engineering, welding, pipe threading and trenching. The company’s all-terrain 4WD truck, fitted with a mounted winch and 5.5-metre reach crane, enables efficient lifting and servicing of pumps, troughs and other farm equipment. The vehicle is also available for hire, complete with a licensed operator, making challenging jobs manageable. Trenching services are a key offering: “Whether it’s a 100-metre trench for irrigation, power, plumbing or effluent systems, we can provide fast, professional and integrated solutions,” says Shaun. “These services, combined with skilled teams for pipework installation, ensure farms can access a complete solution in one place.” Shaun and Sheryl Jellie purchased Milfos Matamata in October 2008 after managing it for two years, which marked the start of their business. Today Sheryl is employed to manage the financial side of operations while Shaun, as the sole director, supports day-to-day workflow, helping maintain a smooth balance between retail, workshop and on-site services. A team of around 11 staff work across the business. Its customer base includes farmers, agricultural contractors, local engineers and the general public.
