The Group has a nationwide network including more than 160 specialist radiologists working across 72 clinics with over 1360 staff nationwide, delivering more than 35% of radiology services nationwide across three brands; Auckland Radiology (ARG), Bay Radiology (BRL) and Pacific Radiology (PRG). RHCNZ is majority-owned by infrastructure investment firm Infratil, which holds a 50.1% stake, with the remaining 49.9% owned by doctors, staff and management from RHCNZ. Infratil’s backing enables RHCNZ to consistently invest in the latest technology. The organisation is already integrating AI into scan analysis and workflows to enhance accuracy and reduce clinical risk. AI is also improving clinic efficiency, helping manage the growing volume of imaging at a time when there is a global shortage of radiologists. Auckland Radiology Group, part of the RHCNZ Medical Imaging Group, has been serving the community since 1936. to page 32 Today, ARG operates 15 specialist clinics across the Auckland region, providing a wide range of services including X-ray, MRI, ultrasound, CT, CT calcium scoring, CT colonography, obstetric ultrasound, immigration X-rays, scintigraphy, fluoroscopy, hysterosalpingograms, and interventional radiology. ARG is headed by managing radiologist and medical director Dr Stephen Merrilees, who is primarily based at the ARG Remuera clinic. He leads a team of 42 radiologists across the Auckland region.
