Christchurch-based landscape designers Mighty Staggz are setting the bar in constructing pool areas that transform outdoor spaces and create a personal paradise. The family-owned business based in Oxford specialises in outdoor living spaces that include stunning in-ground berglass swimming pools and luxurious spas and lagoons. While this is the main line of work, their range of services also includes pool renovation, deck construction, landscaping and anything else to do with outdoor living spaces. “We also have access to pool products, and increasing this access and o ering is something that we see ourselves moving into in the future,” owner Quentin Stagg adds. What sets the business apart is the ability to make clients feel like family, he says. “We are invested in not just doing their job but in creating lasting relationships and we have some clients and partners who we have dealt with on multiple jobs. “We love helping to create and shape beautiful environments where our clients can connect with their friends and whanau, as we believe in everyone’s need for connection and community.” When approaching Quentin for a job, you’re dealing with the director who has more than 20 years of knowledge and hands on experience in building pools. He is onsite working alongside sub-contractors completing and overseeing projects. A stand-out job recently completed was part the ADNZ Architectural Design Award-winning Merivale Alterations renovation, which involved the preparation and breglass of the swimming pool and building custom-built steps. Other projects that stand out are a custom pool, spa and outdoor area in Lincoln, and the construction of a brand-new school pool at Tai Tapu School. “We also have a really cool ongoing project in Akaroa where we are doing an in nity pool with water edge tile detail, custom outdoor area with decking, inbuilt barbecue, outdoor replace and pergola,” Quentin adds. Mighty Staggz has been operating since 2017 with Quentin customising the logo featuring a stag. Its six-point antlers represent each member of their family, and the two colours represent blue for pool water and the green for landscape. People know Quentin as hard working and someone who values honesty and integrity and sees growth in his business as a way that he can be a bigger blessing. He is passionate about his local community and through Mighty Staggz takes pride in being able to provide for others, whether it’s with jobs and livelihood for sta , preferred contractors or sponsoring local events and teams in the community and beyond. He has also been involved in coaching local basketball teams and is an avid supporter on the local rugby sidelines. Quentin, who brings 20 years’ experience to the pool construction game, says going out on his own and starting a business wasn’t something he planned but something that just happened.
