Licensed Renovations BUILDING Undertaking renovations can be confusing – not only in the planning stages, but in the consent and permitting space, too, so are you confident you are up to date with current legislation? The team at Auckland-wide Licensed Renovations Ltd are not only renovation pros, rectifying your property’s pain points, but managing director Russell Clark – known as a ‘powerhouse’ – can sort the facts from the confusion when it comes to legislation. General Manager Jenny Parker says Licensed Renovations Ltd’s services embody the word ‘renovation’ in all its forms: from additions to alterations and structural modifications. “We hold our clients’ hands from the beginning of the process – when we take them through our early-stage budget alongside our quantity surveyor, and take care of all permits and consent work with the architect if required – until the work is signed off,” Jenny says. A key consideration the team keeps in mind is: will this renovation add value to this home in these tight economic times? “Your home is everything,” Jenny says. “We discuss what your pain points are – whether that’s a requirement for more space, or a room that doesn’t quite work for you any more – and we help design a renovation that can rectify that. “We are always striving for that ‘unicorn’ – a renovation that is both cost-efficient and adds value, and helps a home function better for the client.” Licensed Renovations Ltd – 2024 Master Builders House of the Year silver award winner – recently completed a renovation at Mt Eden, installing a brand-new kitchen with marble bench tops, as well as drainage, full landscaping and a deck. They also completed a full villa renovation in Remuera, inside and out, bringing the grand old lady back to life with structural alterations and skylights. Those that work with Licensed Renovations Ltd to undertake renovation work can be assured that Russell is well-versed in New Zealand’s building regulations. “Changes of regulation can be hard to keep up with, but Russell knows the legislation back to front,” Jenny says. “It can be difficult to know who to trust; you need someone who can point you in a clear direction, based on knowledge and experience. “As Kiwis, we love outdoor living, and BBQ areas, decks and pergolas often don’t need a permit. We can clarify this for our clients.” Jenny says legalities are particularly important with the introduction of self-certification for builders. • Alterations • Additions • Full Project Management • Extensions • Fixed Price quotes Auckland’s Specialists Home renovation • www.licensedrenovations.co.nz • Call Jennifer - 0210573393 • Professional Roofing Solutions Auckland Residential & Commercial Find us on: For an Obligation FREE Quote Call: 0800 600 252 roofauckland.nz @RoofAuckland @roof-auckland “Our work must be compliant, and we have to be able to stand by that sign-off,” she says. Jenny says the relationship between builder and client is key to the success of the renovation project. “We meet with our clients regularly. It’s important to make sure everyone is on the same page. Clarity is important, and so is the ability to have some fun as well. This should be a good experience for everyone. “We do the utmost to make the renovation process as smooth as possible.” Licensed Renovations Ltd will be at the Auckland Home Show in September, where visitors can meet Jenny and Russell in person.
